Deadlines for transfers
Deadlines for transfers
When you need to translate documents, you must take into account several key points that may be decisive for the implementation of the project within the deadlines that satisfy you:
- Translation language. If the text falls into frequently used language combinations such as English, German, Russian, Spanish, Italian, then in this case various strategies can be applied to help translate large volumes of documents faster. However, if the translated materials are in less common languages, it should be known that this can sometimes make it difficult to meet the deadline if it is too short, and therefore it is better to start earlier.
- Terminological and stylistic requirements of the client. This may require the use of specialized translators in the relevant subject matter
- Document holder. Documents can be translated most easily and quickly if they are in a suitable electronic format that does not require additional processing. If the documents are scanned or in some other format, they will most likely need to be processed into a format suitable for written translation. This can take quite a bit of time, so it’s a good idea to consult with us so we can help you with useful advice on how to organize your specific project.
- Volume of translation pages. Every translator has a certain capacity for performing written translations. If you do not have organized translation memories and dictionaries, and the volume of pages to be translated is large, it will be necessary to use a team of translators.
In this context, our deadlines are:
- Standard translation – 2 business days
- Fast translation – next business day
- Express translation – from 4 to 8 hours
When determining the translation deadlines, it should be borne in mind that one translator can translate between 5 and 8 translation pages per day with high quality. For this reason, when choosing the relevant order, this level of productivity of one translator should be observed. If the translation pages are more or the translation deadlines are shortened, then a team of several translators is formed. This can also lead to an important problem: with short deadlines, a large volume of pages, a large team of translators, there is never enough time for final completion and checking. This can lead to terminological discrepancies, errors, discrepancies. Therefore, a mandatory condition for the successful completion of any large project is the timely response of the client.
Translation times are also directly dependent on the quality of the medium and the desire for the way in which the additionally translated documents will be issued. The worst and slowest option is poorly scanned documents with many numbers, graphs and diagrams. Despite the fact that we have computer programs that can convert the relevant files, very often everything is typed manually by an operator, and this takes additional time and resources – financial and human.
